Why is that? Did I might get chance for hike or promotion?

It's a general procedure during performance discussions. Each and every employee starting from ASE till manager, everyone will be asked to share their contributions in the past few months by their people lead. It doesn't necessarily mean that you are getting anything.
Based on current situation in the company, it's better for you to be neutral instead of getting hopes up.
