Trending @Accenture; Need career and health guidance
Hi everyone, I need some guidance.
I recently joined Accenture as a fresher and was assigned to a support project. I had requested my manager for a release, but he said he cannot release me right now and warned me not to ask repeatedly. He said he would plan something gradually, and after taking a Java technical interview of mine, he told me he would connect with me the next week as he was thinking something for me. But it’s been over two weeks and I haven’t received any updates.
Meanwhile, I’ve been struggling with back and neck pain for the last 5–6 months. I’ll be consulting a doctor soon, and if I’m advised one month of rest, I’ll need to inform my manager.
My concern is — what usually happens in such cases?
Will they release me from the project?
Will they allow medical leave and keep me in the same project?
Or could it negatively affect my career?
If anyone has faced a similar situation, your advice would mean a lot 🙏

Actually I'm in exact same situation.Working extended hours also affecting my mental health and sleep

You can take leave without pay in this case if you can afford to manage without salary for few months. Knowing that you were already asking for release, your manager will look for a new resource ideally.
