Your total compensation (Fix plus var) is 14.7 Lacs. This is assuming you got 3 lacs as variable. You will be taxed as per new income tax bracket. Only deduction in new tax is 75k as standard. Tax is applicable on total income in a year and not just fixed component.

govt doesnt care about fixed or variable. If money has been credited, it will be counted.

Guys the new slab is effective next Fiscal year. So you will still pay taxes this summer per existing rates.
