Trending @Accenture; MBA Scam - Analyst

We’re a bunch of MBA grads from Tier 2–3 colleges. Accenture came to campus with flashy pitches

“You’ll be a consultant, help clients grow profits, solve big business problems…”

Reality?

All of us got scattered across the country. It’s not about the package—it’s the role.

Three months of training, then Analyst… which means SAP tasks, documentation, mechanical work.

And it’s not just here—heard it’s the same everywhere.

Tier 2–3 MBA → 3 months training → Analyst → after 5 years maybe Consultant → then Senior Consultant in tech.

This feels like a scam. We didn’t do an MBA to get stuck in this loop.

Managers, seniors—what’s the way out? Can we shift early to business or strategy consulting?

Genuine question- On Accenture india level who leads this BA practice, who decides we need these number of hires in all these business groups. Cos literally our jobs can be done by any lead out there with some experience (unless you are not in proper consulting). Further, we are treated same as other engineer graduate and done evaluation on promotion hikes along with them, no difference whatsoever depending on the BA or business process consulting work that i do. Manager, DU lead even they have no idea we all are same according to them and we learn technology and deliver like any other engineer here :)

I think somewere this is whole scams going on between colleges and companies.

We will give tag MBA and you will get educated slaves.

Pay them slightly more , give rosy tag.

Generated employment.

I can feel your pain. Had a whole bunch of people in my location in same situation last year only. You need a very good luck to get good project work where you can gain experience, otherwise it's same crappy work.

Network with higher ups, ask for more work specially something you're interested in and want to learn. Show initiative, hopefully managers will notice and you'll get needed experience.

That's the only way.

The worst part is you cant switch to accenture strtegy consulting easily. They will go to lower tier colleges to get new hires for consulting but not allow internal transfer

Same feeling. Accenture ruined me. MBA in supply chain but Accenture made me business Analyst instead of an SAP consultant and now I'm stuck in this stupid Insurance project
