My manager connected with me today and said I am doing good work bt I have attitude that without me this project doesn't work. It's true they all depend on me ... for 70% but even I am unaware of the 30% and we had a clash before and she is saying frankly speaking she has issues with me.she suggest me to change my vision of without me my project doesn't run. Also my TL who joined last dec is depending on me and she is saying he is still learning and all r same . I really don't understand how or on what basis my manager is telling this. Can't I be proud of what I do ? Is it wrong? They overload as and yesterday to my TL I told I wont b able to take it pls as I have these many tasks and today manager and tl called me and one more person who told the same and scolded us. Can't we Raise the concern also?

You can be proud but don’t show it to your PL or SM who are the actual project owners. When she told you like this don’t expect much on your hike or promotion. Better resign and get more hike.

You can be proud, but don't let it turn into arrogance. Your manager sees your attitude as a problem. Raise concerns, but do it constructively. Balance confidence with humility.

You can definitely be proud of what you do. But the way you write this, it looks like you are flaunting it as well. Do not ever think a project can run without you. I've seen this for past 14 years.

Even if you stop showing up from tomorrow, the project might face some hurdles, but they'll keep moving along.

However, if your work is not being respected, then it's a different matter. Make sure you have data points ready whenever someone asks.

Good thing is manager and leadership is transparent which clearly lets you know what are there expectations from you.

Now coming back to your question, can't I be proud of what I do? So answer is yes you can be proud but make sure you don't flaunt too much and in showing your proudness, you are sort of humiliating others and letting them think they can't do that which shouldn't be the case.

What I suggest you to do is that, be humble and nice with your members and let's say if you are already nice with them but they are misinterpreteting something else then make sure you are not leaving that impression.

And this is how things might go like with you, it will be about time until someone is ready to full replace you and then they want you to leave the team or they will take as a challenge to change your attitude but yes in either cases your promotion and hikes will definitely be compromised
