Trending @Accenture; Looking for Advice: How to Handle a Non-Receptive Team Member Who Threatens HR Escalation?

I have a team member reporting to me who has been with the project for around 7 months, but there has been very limited learning or improvement so far. Despite multiple attempts to guide and support her, she is not receptive to feedback and often does not listen during explanations.

When she performs incorrect analysis and I try to correct or guide her, the discussion frequently turns into unnecessary arguments, with insistence that her approach is right. Additionally, her communication on calls tends to be rude and unprofessional.

When advised to maintain professionalism and improve communication, she responds by threatening to escalate to HR instead of addressing the feedback constructively.

Looking for advice on how to handle such situations effectively and professionally.

You are TL, you have the power. You should be the one escalating this matter to the HR, if she doesn’t listen.

A very common case and a prime example of a Gen z employee, just note down each things and with such people give it on email without fail every week. First and foremost try to explain verbally they won't accept of course, then go email route and be very calm and collective.

Keep the PM as well, and slowly release suuch people from the project, there is no harm in it.

Don't go the pip route, which you can but avoid it.
