Trending @Accenture; Late Client Meetings Beyond Extended Shift

Hi everyone, I wanted to get some thoughts or advice on a situation I’m currently facing at work.

My official shift is from 11 AM to 8 PM. A while ago, our manager requested the team to extend work hours till 9 PM due to the client being available later in the day, and we've all been following that.

Lately, though, client meetings are being scheduled at 9 PM or even later—sometimes running until 9:30 or 10 PM. This goes beyond the already extended shift, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to manage consistently.

I missed one such meeting recently, and my manager sent me an email saying that everyone else attended and that this won’t be acceptable going forward.

So I have a few questions:

Is it expected or reasonable to attend meetings beyond the agreed extended hours without a formal shift change?

Should I just attend these late meetings to avoid friction, or is it fair to set boundaries?

How should I respond professionally to my manager’s email in this situation?

Would really appreciate your perspectives—especially if you’ve been through something similar.

Tell your manager why don't you pay for extra hours if you're having problem with everything

Simply adjust your shift by delaying your start time. Dont work even 1min extra, give what you get paid for.

Set boundaries. Clients value your time only if you do.
