Trending @Accenture; Is this common procedure in Accenture?
My manager has been assigning me both their managerial responsibilities (under the pretext of learning) and tasks that fall within my current role. Since I’m handling managerial tasks for the first time, I naturally take a bit longer to complete them. As a result, I missed a couple of my own deliverables—by just a few hours.
However, every small mistake I make—none of which have impacted the project—is promptly escalated by my manager to my Project Lead (PL). Interestingly, even my PL mentioned that such minor issues typically wouldn’t need to be reported. Recently, I received very positive feedback during a client call that my manager was originally supposed to handle but I took over. Despite the praise, my manager didn’t share this with the PL—only the minor errors.
I’m trying to understand if this is common practice at Accenture. My previous manager used to behave similarly.
