Trending @Accenture; I'm an M leaving shortly. AMA.

Leaving after a few years. Didn't feel the slightest of the connection with anyone here. Each one on their own. I've worked for a few companies, and this is probably the most soulless company I've worked for in more than a decade of working for different companies. Happy to answer any questions.

If your reportee resigns after you've announced their vp or hike, do you have the option to reverse their numbers?

reverse back 😱 It's not possible.. It completely depends on leadership and HR confirmation

Sorry for saying this but most of the work (80%+) can be classified as average. Most of the people are quite average. Had multiple opportunities to closely work with many MDs. Honestly, I never felt any one had the vibes of a great leader.

I felt similar working with AM, DL, SDL, not a great vibes from Admiring leadership qualities and setting examples to down the time. Poor leadership with Babugiri style( typical indian mindset) i feel sometimes down the line, a great global enterprise under Indian leadership mindset felt more indian culture decorated in MNC culture. There will be exceptions to this but we Indian definitely need good management and leadership who really don’t decide based on cast, region, language favouritism, and hierarchy.

Did you join as an M? What is your CTC? I joined as an AM and stuck in this role since 4 years despite managing team in capacity of M? Also, are you from tech background? I want to switch bit I want remote role as my kid is an year old, do you have any recommendations for remote roles in other orgs?

Joined as M, leaving as M. Was given n number of promises but was quick to realise the condition of the company. Wfh is very easy to get in Accenture compared to outside. Try to speak to you PL.

Which company would you suggest for aspiring Data and AI roles. Cause honestly all these TCS Infosys etc MNCs seem the same.

TwirlyMuffin

I'll suggest product companies with big data and AI teams like swiggy, Zomato, Flipkart etc

Any of the companies you might have deeper knowledge of, from self experience or known associates?

How is the hike and vp number for any employee decided? And who's the one making that decision?

TwirlyMuffin

It starts with the moderation but the number guidance is from top down. We have to fit the bell curve sometimes. Last couple of years I've tried to maximize VP but can only do as per the kitty.

Not at all. But this shows, you're not in the priority for your practice.

It's sad to hear this. I can empathize with you totally.

Accenture culture mainly depends on your project and the mode of working. I have been here for 8 years, so I can share my experience. I joined in as an ASE, my team members were in Bengaluru including myself where we all worked together for about 4 years before moving onto my next role before COVID. The bond i have with all of them is super organic, because we all were physically working together for so many years, enjoying parties gossip and what not? Then came COVID, New project was WFH and everyone was scattered elsewhere and it was impossible to form the same kind of bond with such people. It was only work oriented, nothing else.

As things started to ease post COVID, I was assigned a different project where only 4 of us lead an entire SAP Implementation project, all remote locations, with truck load of work but the bonding and understanding we all had was so much that even Leadership recognised all our efforts and sent us onsite for different activities in various project phase.

All in all, I'd say it's how we blend with people depending on the project environment. Sometimes, you will find people who would only want to work, sometimes it's building a bond that stays for a lifetime. It's unfortunate that you couldn't make a connection with them, perhaps a good set of people might be waiting in the new company. I am also leaving in 2.5 months time and I hope I am able to find good people around me.

Cheers and all the best for your new role!!
