Trending @Accenture; HR asked me to visit the office before the joining date

I'm an experienced candidate, I have an offer from a company & my joining date is on 23rd Dec but this HR is asking me that I'm supposed to visit the office in person before the joining date i.e on 18th, saying I need to meet HR department & manager. Why do they do like this?
