Trending @Accenture; How to switch into different projects in Accenture?
Hi all, I graduated last year and joined accenture in september 2023 as ASE, but they gave me SAP me in the stream training which I didn't want to be in. I started rejecting the project call of SAP MM in hope to get a development project because In my college I am always interested in development roles that's why I practiced and made many projects in web development.
But now I was hard locked in a SAP MM profile. What can i do now to get out of this and get a developer role. I am feeling demotivated and depressed now.
Please give me some suggestions.

Yes as told above....there are some policies to keep ASE in a project for atleast 1 year. So i would suggest to learn and switch to any development projects within that same client or learn and try outside company too.
If ur able to get rolloff early means then you can search jobs in workday/reachout to persons for development related projects

Thanks a lot sir for your suggestion. Can you tell me about the internal hiring of development projects. If I am in a different project other than the required skills they want. Can I apply in that particular project? Will they entertain me ?
And if by chance I got that project, will my current manager be ready to roll me off from my current project and transfer me to the new one?

Im am a SE too bro...no need me or anyone as Sir.
First i would say for learn the developing and growing skills. You can try to find out which developement tool they are using in your current client and maybe prepare for that.
Try to get some certifications and you can ask with ur manager for internal change
If not possible internally inside client. You would need to find inside company, you can try get mentors & contacts with iaspire portal, linkedin etc. Change ur primary skill to development related in mycompentancy get a p3,p4. Try to apply in workday/job portal for new opening Connect with the contacts and try to ask them if they have openings. Rechout to the job posters in mail too.
If internal accenture managers are okay to take u for their project means you can ask for roll off to ur current manager.
If nothing works means better to try outside company. But that too depends on market, skills, even ur 90 days notice too.
Sometimes its entirely luck too so u can try it.
I was in .net stream but got Oracle but i didn't hesitate to learn or grow. Now i wanted to come back to some Microsoft related skills so that too can be happening due to luck 🤞 . We will see

The minimum roll of period is 18 months, so you cannot ask for a roll off before. After 18 months you can formally mail and request a roll-off. You can try your luck with the Managers and Senior Managers and if someone is helpful enough to give you a roll off or a dev role in the same project. Your options are limited at this point and I would say this to anyone stuck in the same boat here in ACN, dont do a support project or a career role you dont aspire with. Get a roll off, change your role internally inside Accenture or simply switch to some other company but dont waste the peak learning years of your career in projects with no learning/growth opportunity.

Jump ship as soon as possible don't wait for them to release you , if you joined in sep then chances are you are in probation and your notice will be just 1 month.
Initial low salary will haunt you if you keep on working in same company for long.
Suppose they did not release or switch tech then you will be stuck in SAP and after 2 years if you want to switch company , they will expect 2 yr ex knowledge in your tech/development.
Grind as much as possible in Initial days be always interview ready if you are planning to do this for rest of your life. After few years when you get to a number which you have in mind , life will be much easy .
I am stuck in my comfort zone , dont be like me.

Thanks for this wonderful suggestion. I will definitely take care of these things.

You won’t get a roll off easily…it’s protocol they can’t release ASEs until 18 months (some say it’s 12 months)
You can get out of Accenture at this point itself if you’re getting good opportunity. They might only ask to return the joining bonus you must’ve got (I’m not sure until what period from joining this applies)
What you can do internally is, let your manager know your subject of interest. But don’t be too pushy. Most of managers are really understanding.
If in any case there are roll offs due to business reasons you can get released early (happened with me because client had budget cutting).
Keep working on development skills don’t loose touch. Add relevant secondary skills in your myCompetency.
I can totally understand what you are feeling but being patient is the first skill of Accenture employees 🙂

Thanks a lot Sir for giving me the suggestion of what I can do. I will definitely work on my development skills and will wait for the good opportunity either in Accenture or in some other organization.
