Trending @Accenture; How to get roll off from my current project?

Right now I'm in a support project and I've got an interview call from a development project and I've cleared it. They are offering me to join but when I asked my current manager for roll off, he said it's not possible. Then I've mailed him keeping his manager in cc, today he called me and was angry on me. He said many a things like if you do it again it will be your last day in Accenture and now I'll ask you to come to office daily. Can anyone suggest what I should should do because I really want to get into that dev project and they're just waiting for my roll off to take me in?

The rule states that you need to give 15 days notice to your current project to get a release. You should talk to the HR and offer to double hat for a couple of weeks if needed so that you can facilitate a good handover. Now, for different accounts, notice period can vary but shouldn’t be more than 4 weeks for a support project irrespective of the client you are working for.

When you reach out to the HR, highlight the followings:

  1. Request for release - reason being a mismatch in aspirations as you want to be a part of a development role rather than a support role.
  2. You have not received any help from your manager - also highlight that he has asked you to come to office everyday flouting rules that HR has made (once a day in office) and this rule is only applicable to you in the team and not others. Highlight his rude behavior and his threatening statement that it will be your last day in Accenture.
  3. Based on this statement, ask for a change of team/manager to reduce the influence of this toxic manager in your progress within Accenture. Make sure to write the line - “I am afraid of retaliation if he is involved in my career growth”.

This should atleast create a buzz. And that should be enough for the manager to step back and give you what you want.

In these types of cases generally managers talk among themselves and sort out. So contact your development project manager and ask him whether it is possible.
