My instructors and POCs have instructed that it is not possible to change the primary skill.

Maybe there are some exclusive conditions when you are in a project and your lead or manager approves it. There's a process here.

It is possible to change your primary skill.... Reach out to your people lead and request him/her they'll get it done eventually... Mind you it depends on the project anyway!

If you are on bench, you cnt change. If in a project, then your manager might approve.
