Trending @Accenture; How can I get a roll off from my project?
My manager always tries to manipulate the conversation one way or the other, and I never manage to leave.

the problem with my team is also the same and too much micromanagement. they are asking for a medical prescription for 19 aug leave. they ask us to update how much time is taken in each work and then even the daily hours tracker depicting our entire day.
this is too much which is apart from the politics in the team related to work assignment

Oh damn, that is alot. Leaves should be something that we shouldn't be questioned about.
Alot of politcs, agreed.

Going through a similar situation, feel like switching the job

Just mail your supervisor that you want to roll-off with proper valid reason and that's it, further he'll take care

I pinged him actually, then he called me and we spoke on call, but that did not get me the output I wanted.

valid reason could be? could you guide on possible reasons to give. tbh, i want more exposure in different project now as i learnt a lot in this current one and plus too much politics, favouritism and micromanagement

Why do you want roll off? Make your mind to tell them exactly that and be persistent. No manager will give roll off immediately or first time you ask. Keep asking and convince him that you dont want to work in this project. Only then you will get roll off.

Yea! Thanks,.I will be consistent, I sometimes hesitate here and there, some way or the other, I don't get my way, but I'll bring it up consistently.

Your manager is a puppet master, huh? Stand up, show your worth. "Apna time aayega", remember? How about you start managing your manager?

I would love to start managing him, lekin unko he approve krna padga na mera roll off project se

I too face the same problem. I am in a situation that I can't ask roll off because there is a threat like " they will put you in PIP if you go ask roll off" few have faced that as well 😢

If you are working for more than 18 months you can loop in HR and ask for roll off. Only thing is it will impact your performance results. Second option is risky but most effective. Take long medical leave. Say for typhoid or for an operation. If you do that they will need to find a replacement of yours and they will give roll off easily once there is another person working.

Oh! Okay yes that's sounds like it could work, cause I definitely do need to take a long leave. Thank you, I will try to do that.

I faced this. The option is to be firm and tell them it's demotivating to continue like this, and it's impacting your professional growth and mental health. Take your supervisor in confidence and ask him to speak on your behalf if required.

Here's what my lead had told me ... Usually roll off is easily given when you change your work domain. Stating very technically that you are pursuing may be a domain change, from cloud to security for example, and that there's not much scope or openings for that domain/role in your current project. Hence you would like to try openings you see in the internal job portal.
I remember him telling one needs to have a very valid scenario for project roll off. Coz at times even if your manager approves it, upper management may not approve of it.

Mc hai ye log.. politics karte hai bus they want you stuck at the same place they are stuck.. if you try to go out of it they will do everything possible to pull you down …

Until they can replace you can never take a roll-off, I directly asked my manager he said I have too much dependency, that's why I can't roll-off you. Otherwise he would have put me out of the team long back.

I understand that, but it should at least be considered that I want to leave the project. My manager himself might roll off, so I guess he won't bother much about my roll off

Goto the Doctor which is available in office premises and if he asks about work pressure or something from project describe the whole scenario might be helpful in some way 😂
