Why do people only message to say "Hi"? Can't they just ask directly for what they want? I truly dislike it when people ping me with just a "Hi" without providing any context as well. What are your thoughts on this?

I think it is ok to say a Hi but not ok to say just a HI. Why not Hi [name of the person]. Isn't it a courtesy to also mention the name of the person?
