Does the PIP get started after the PIP initiation meeting as I am on planned leave for a few days.

So they tell the exact dates of PIP or start immediately after initiation

Any idea why they put you in PIP?

I was put in PIP by previous project without any feedback as they had to give to someone

PIP will have a plan like perform these activities by this date, if you are able to do PIP will be cleared else you will be asked to leave. After meeting your lead will share plan, most important thing keep talking to your lead during this period and all action item should be documented on email. Like daily status, after task completion ask for feedback on email.

Your job is at risk, so don't take anything lightly.
