Hope you are doing well I'm doing all the development task in my team We are a team of 5 members including lead.
My manager always appraised me and told me that my performance is outstanding
Recently i told him that I'm expecting promotion this cycle.
He said that i am not denying that your performance is outstanding and you are taking all the responsibility but right now I can't commit.
Let's wait for ATCI decision then only i can say anything Also there are many phases for promotion as we have to discuss with lead and all
So what should i do?

Give some tips how you improve as a developer. Best practices to debug?

I never give up.idk why but if i start something and if I'm getting an error I'll sit at laptop till the time it's not solved.
I pick that block of code. Pass some sample input. Add print statement, test, change logic if not done, again test.
Like that only. I'm a data engineer bdw.

Exactly the same role and DOJ. Same situation. Manager, skip level mgr, clients everyone always commends. Even my team's TL has been let go. But tbh, other than recognition points & shoutouts there isn't much.
1 question, how did you ask for promotion (I mean is there no minimum MAL criteria) ?

Idk about it. He was praising me on call so i asked😂

If you have 5 yoe , and you are still at level 11 as an analyst, why don't you provide yourself a chance to switch. I don't understand why you are still thinking about promotion.

It's 3 years only and it's my 2nd company

What's your current CTC? I have similar situation though L11 sublevel01
