Trending @Accenture; Fake promises
I joined Accenture in October 2021 as an SE. But till now, I didn't get any promotions, and my manager promised me that I'd get a promotion this May. But a week before, I received a roll-off email. I'm totally fed up. I worked on weekends and overnight whenever they asked. However, they eventually betrayed me.
Will I be promoted even if I switch to a new project or am on the bench?

Oh that is really unethical. Rolling off just because you are eligible for promotion is really really BAD!

Same happened with me.. joined in Jan 2022 and from the last 2 years i am only getting fake promotion. Waiting for the promotion this cycle otherwise i will switch.

Is it roll off send by your supervisor or Auto generated.
Auto generated roll off email are common.. ask your supervisor to extend it.

It's not auto generated

This is really bad from Project Management. Always try asking about promotion/hikes to skip level too and get feedback from manager's manager on your growth plan

If it is auto generated roll-off mail then the current project itself will extend the release date. But if is intentional then it’s different discussion.
New project may not promote you this may cycle because they may say we need to analyse your work and they may push to next cycles.
But I would suggest is do your work and just logoff. Never stretch to much that may affect your health. No need to show your loyalty to the project. If not this company there are many companies outside. You need to look outside also. Start that early and get something good in your hand and leave and grow up in life.

Toxic manager

Same here as well, it's almost as if they tell the managers to specifically act this way. I had move out of my old project due to budgeting issues and last year end when there was discussion on hikes and promotions I was blatantly told by my new manager that "let's see how this goes since you're new to this project"

Few things you should learn by now in corporate are - Never be emotionally attached with your company or work. It's a job, do your job and get paid. You are easily replaceable in any case, so work smartly. Keep sharpening your skills as you grow, after calculated time search for the opportunities, it doesn't matter to many managers that how hard you've worked including weekends and extended hours. Be wiser.

New project will be a new race and unless you work extremely well, they may not consider because the queue will be filled for that project already,
Your manager was not just unethical but unprofessional to promise a promotion because nobody knows the budgets or what it will be.

Go on bench somehow and then resign and look out .. just my opinion.
