I raised a WFO exception request at the end of January, and my manager approved it until April. I also had a conversation with him, and he assured me that he was approving it for that duration.

However, yesterday, when I connected with HR regarding a location transfer, she came across my exception request and immediately rejected it. She stated that the reason I provided was not valid and that my manager didn’t follow the proper guidelines before approving it.

I explained to her that I had already discussed this with my manager, and he had confirmed that he could approve it. Despite this, she still rejected my request.

I’m unsure what to say at this point. I raised the request back in January, and HR didn’t act on it until now. After all this time, they rejected it only when they became aware of it. I was already mentally prepared for the approval since my manager had assured me of it.
