Trending @Accenture; Career Advice needed - working as PMO since 4 months

I joined Accenture as a fresher. Got trained in oracle database administration. But was given PMO role by HR becoz was on bench for 3 months.

Now my question is- Is there scope of growth in PMO role? I was planning to switch after 1.5-2 years at Acn but PMO roles outside are very limited as per linkedin.

Any one from PMO role who can advice me on this and what companies and other similar roles I could target?

TIA

If you are not that interested in tech roles then PMO is fine , compared to tech roles the pay is less but will not have the pressure they have

In terms of other opportunities I got an offer letter from Big4 for PMO itself with 40% hike

It pains me to see people ignoring Long term goals for short term goals...if you are okay to compromise your technical goals..I wish all the best to you,you get all the success you hope for!!

Being a technical person you shouldnt have accepted PMO role. Ask for roll off ASAP if you dont wanna mess your career.

For every role there will be some growth. Even if it has less openings still there could be some companies looking out for that role. But your career will go towards management side than technical one. And you will have to work more towards your presentation, communication and confidence level. Then even you can jump into BA roles and there is lots of scope, onsite opportunities as well. Here you may get chance to gain knowledge in tech n non tech as well.

If management is asking technical people to join a complete non tech role this is nothing but exploitation .but as mentioned earlier. We cant do much..paapi pet ka sawal hai

Dont wait for any time period to switch. Pmo roles are for bcomm ba guys(even they prepare for cat etc) as a btech graduate you should join any tech role in other company even with same or less pay. These early 1-2 years of your career will define your life.

Try to get project roles as per your training I would say, ask for roll off or tell them you need a role switch. But totally depends upon you, what you want to cont with in your career.
