How does bench system works here? Like for how many days we can be on bench before getting threats from HR?

Performance Improvement Program. It's there in all the firms. Basically, a formal way of your employer saying that you may leave after your PIP ends

Bench time can be unpredictable, usually 2-3 months is okay. After that, HR might start nudging you, so keep looking for projects.
