As a fresher should we accept any role in a project or wait for the role of our choice?
Before accepting any role asking what domain you are going work like banking , life science, big data, PLM, etc. Some doesn't have projects at all . They just transfer you inside DU/ project bench , they again you should wait for client/billing project(Trust me it's depressing after long wait).
Try not to go internal projects , there will no serious development. You just get exposure no learning.
Now cmg back to role,
If you are ASE , please accept any role , try to reject 2 or 3 testing till you get dev or else to do it 6 months and say to manager everytime you need dev role.
If you r HIGHER CL like AASE or AEH or other you have higher chances to get dev
Try to get role based on what got stream trained. (Above suggestion based my experience your case maybe different please take decision after considering with any senior) there so many ppl who r still project bench more than 6 months)
Thank you for the detailed reply, one more doubt what other roles there are except dev roles. I was assigned with Big Data what kind of projects can I expect any rough idea.
I seen 3 projects from my colleagues,
1.Azure migration (Hive to azure) 2. Transforming big data (petabytes) using pyspark 3. Data pipelines in gcp with data ingest using Talend
