I am waiting for RTO to be at least 2 days a week, when will it happen across India at organisation level ?

ZippyPotato

Who is stopping you from going to the office? You can voluntarily go 5 days a week if you'd like to.

ZippyPotato
ZippyPotato

As far as I know, it's already mandatory 2 days a week.

What basically are the real factors for promotion/hike? We have heard lots of things from lots of people and just wanted to know what the real eligibility factors are.

SillyBurrito

Depends on the project, somewhere your work would be noticed, somewhere chatugiri and somewhere both. πŸ˜‚

There are a lot of factors that play a role in someone getting promoted. Here are a few that we constantly look for when selecting who to promote:

  1. Primary skill of the person and whether that is in alignment with the organizations need
  2. Is the person a back to back performer? A B2B performer is someone who gets a Talent Priority flag back to back in 2 cycles. This relates to point 1 since TPs are given out to people who only have the skill that is a priority for the organization
  3. Proficiency on the primary and secondary skills (Need at least P3+ to even qualify for the promotion list)
  4. MAL in the organization
  5. GenAI proficiency and usage in client delivery
  6. Lastly and most importantly, the budget (which is usually lower when you move up the ladder in the career level). If there is a lower budget, and if there are multiple people with the same metrics, the person with the higher MAL is automatically taken forward with others being a P2 in the queue for the next cycle

Hope this helps.

I got a promotion from analyst to senior analyst, with 13% now in march cycle, my SM is saying you won't get hike in june, I am underpaid with new base pay of 8.75, Can SM give hike in june? Also anyway to reach base pay of 12 without switching

DerpySushi

I have raised grievance for this and that is also not helping me.You work like donkey day and night doesn't matter now if the bucket is decided by HR already.Chances are less u will get anything as u got promotion last time

PerkyJellybean

It's not as simple as that. You hike with the promotion is usually a fixed % which is 13%. But when it comes to the normal cycle increment, many factors play a role here.

  • Central team does a market wide research of what is the salary "range" for a person with the same skill, same experience, same location, and same level.
  • Once they have that, they map your salary to something known as a reference zone. There are 6 reference zones for a person
  • If you are in zones 1, 2 and 3 - It means you are paid less or within the range of what the market offers for the same role
  • If you are in 4 - There are less chances of you getting anything but it depends on case to case basis depending on your performance
  • If you are in 5 or 6 - You won't get anything.

All of this is driven in a central tool by the central team. While SMs have discretion to decide the hike, the base range is already decided in the tool based on the above factor.

So if you are in 5 or 6 - Even if you are a stongest performer, and your SM wants to give you hike, they can't since the tool itself doesn't allow it.

At the lower levels, the SM can change the % set by the tool but they can't make changes that change the effective zone of the person.

Hope this clears some of how this works.

Is there a program for pursuing a higher education degree course which is sponsored by Accenture for ATCI folks?

Tech Leap

Accenture had a tie up with ISB for business programs that people at MM+ level used to get the email for but I haven't seen those in the recent times so not sure if there is anything like that which is still a focus for the organization.

What is the outlook for the June performance cycle? Have discussions started?

PerkyJellybean
PerkyJellybean

Not yet. It’s early in the preparation cycle. Currently, the central team has reached out to all SMs asking to revalidate the head counts of eligible people for June and map the right Talent and Group Leads. Budgets will come a couple months later. Around March end or early April.

Can you get some information on a rumour that Noida office is going to be closed pls?

PerkyJellybean
PerkyJellybean

It's not getting closed but it is at full capacity so no new hires or transfers to that location is allowed. There are discussions around adding new facility there but that is going to take a long time so till then, no new head count addition to that location.

Transfer is fine but am already in Noida location so there heard few teams chatting they are planning to close noida. But if you're saying it's not then that's good thank you :)

Role and Responsibilities for Team Lead as I'm getting promoted. However aligning with a completely new team. So now ask from me to get the work done as in new people are not behaving and working properly and then build a completely new team for other work as well.

PerkyJellybean
PerkyJellybean

You should clear the expectations with your PL and M if you are recently promoted since they are the ones that will decide your talent outcome in the cycles based on how you performed.

You should definitely talk to your M and SM in this case. The mapping for the June cycle has started and the process with officially start in a month or two. You should make sure that all your data points are in alignment with what I posted in the questions about promotion and increments. Take a look at those comments and let me know if you have any further questions.

SillyBurrito

Appreciate the help. This is specifically for my project.

Recently lots of changes have been made and they are trying to focus on devops and integrate multiple teams into one (full stack), they have sent the pilot team to abroad as well for full stack training.

My question for you is currently ive 15 MAL and im a fresher, how and what can I do from my end to shift from operations work to get into this team ? πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

PerkyJellybean
PerkyJellybean

Change in the role or project is dependent completely on your M and SM. You should talk to them and mention your aspirations to them. You can also register on the iAspire portal and set your aspirations. Once you do that, you will start getting training and enablement links to that skill and eventually can land a job in that role.
