Trending @Accenture; Accenture has lowered its standard to a point of no possible comeback, a developer POV
Leadership brings in clients and work, but if a company treats their actual workforce badly, how can a company sustain?
Hope this message reaches the leadership who really want to do good for the company.
Developers, at any level are really struggling on every front
- They have to fight to get work constantly (this lead, update that lead, update proficiency which needs from this person, that person, bench calls treat you as if you have committed a crime)
- They have to fight to get a decent working laptop (seriously the phones now have 12-16GB ram and the company still thinks a 16gb laptop is good?). Remember if opening basic apps on a developer system is laggy, the expectation from a dev to improvise on their own is pretty non extential. I have even seen devs with a mere 8gb, 256gb laptop assigned to them (that too second hand) as their first laptop at Accenture.
- They have to constantly fight for visibility, "no matter how impacting their work be" as there are those above "credibility devourer", who are always ready and looking for taking away your work credits to show its there.
- Accenture even cuts on the reward points a dev get from their leadership sitting in US/EU lol. If they credit $1, it gets credited to us as $0.25.. Seriously??
- Some devs gets gifts for which they are taxed for? Like, did the dev asked for gifts (accessories) which they didnt ask for and now has to pay tax on those unwanted gifts?
- Minimal to no hike
- Pointless feedback yearly or bi yearly forms as nothing gets actioned upon
- Pointless trainings but when a dev asks for a really good training, the dev is thrown into that same "vicious" cycle of approvals.
Now if the devs have to fight for work, fight for laptop, fight for visibility, fight for approvals, fight for getting upskilled right and then fight for salaries, promotions (and I haven't even talked about the internal politics which eats away developer careers if their managers cant find a way out), why does Accenture expects they stay energetic and high on morale for the company?

Leadership is like somehow we can spend 2-3 more itโs more than sufficient for us. Who cares for future of the Accenture once we come out no one is going to ask us

Accenture is losing its value Once known to be a dream IT company is losing its worth they are getting mad behind earning money closing buildings and forcing people to come to the office without checking if there is space for all, no benefits, no hike, no promotion, they will eventually start loosing hard working people because they will switch to organization that value them, infact these people have become so "KANJUUS" they have become blind and they are just looting more of low currency places like India
Seems Accenture will realise this very soon

Leadership is like - If 20% hike needs to be given, better get a replacement from Infy
Till people are happy with 0% hike, leadership is happy, moment you show tantrum, replacement will be brought from other companies with lower experience, higher salary and higher designation.

I'm from testing, and we also face the same. They literally don't provide good laptops. I changed my laptop thrice since 2023 April. It affected my performance badly. Everytime it took 2-3 days to configure and still my laptop has some issues.

A new M4 MacBook Air costs 95K at the moment, yet they gonna give you a subpar windows laptop, overpriced at 1.6L and say "Macbook" is only for managers and above or can be procured by project only.
Accenture thinks MacBook is a "luxury" lol, how bad the team deciding laptop specs are

We as devs work as QA, PO and scrum at times, i mean we should be payed our due atleast
That explains the high attrition rate, there might be other reasons too
True.
I cannot agree more.
I joined as a fresher and will complete 1 year in couple of months..
I consider myself as a good dev.
I'm good with logical area of code and was desperate for project after training...
Eventually i got tagged into one and the client sucks..
No work is given to me till now..
I've been begging them to allocate me work.
My team lead , who is managing 13 Devs have 0 knowledge on tech.
My manager told me that they don't need ASEs and being here is better than being on Accenture's bench.
There are laptop restrictions.
Can't open fucking VScode to develop something or to learn.
Can't use YouTube.
Can't use hackerrank or leetcode to do stuff.
The only best part is my team's devs.. they understood that my time is being wasted and guiding me to learn stuff.
I had to change my laptop by forcing it to load on memory and took a screenshot.
Raised a ticket and guess what.. got another used laptop of 32 gb where 16 gb of ram is eaten by restriction softwares.
I'm grinding on DSA and development.
Have to leave this fucked up company.
Gosh I was soo excited in January that I got a project.
I see great potential being wasted.
I met a girl who is very good low level coder doing a d365 manual labour task.
And in the other end I see my friend who sucks at coding and struggles with writing low level logics..
The rules are bad,
The management is bad,
The allocation is bad,
WFO! Tf should we do going office? Bad,
Transport is bad.
When very little things are on your side and you are against all.. trying to copeup, questioning yourself..
The decisions... Comparing to others..
Self esteem goes down the drain.
Anyway, don't give up.
If it was easy everybody would've done it.

Same happening to me as I am a new joiner , I will give very bad review to Accenture
