Transitioning from QA to Development – Is It a Smart Move?

I recently joined a new company where I was interviewed and selected for an SDET role, based on my 3.5 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. However, after joining, I was offered a Software Engineer role as a Java Developer instead. Currently, I'm undergoing training in Spring Boot and other development-related technologies. Just wanted to hear your thoughts — is it a good move for someone coming from a testing background to transition into a development role? Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has advice to share!

Yup, development pays more

Yeah, it does pay well! 💸 But not gonna lie, learning Spring Boot is a bit tough right now. The training sessions feel a little overwhelming — still trying to wrap my head around what’s going on.
