Transitioning from Android Development – Need Advice on Leveraging Experience, System Design, and LC Prep

Hi all,

As the title suggests, I’m an Android developer with 5 years of experience. Currently, I work at a company where the tech stack isn’t related to Spring Boot, and I’m pretty much done with Android. With limited job prospects in my current field, I’m looking to shift to a bigger MNC, ideally a product-based organization.

I have three questions: 1. Leveraging Android Experience: Being proficient in Java and Kotlin, will my Android background be of any leverage in transitioning to backend roles? 2. System Design: I’ve been preparing for system design interviews, but since I’ve never worked on an enterprise project as a backend developer, the concepts sometimes feel alien. Given my background, what kind of system design questions should I expect? 3. LeetCode Preparation: Considering I’ve been in the industry for some time now, what kind of LeetCode questions should I focus on to make a successful switch?

I’d appreciate any insights or advice from those who’ve made a similar transition or have relevant experience in product-based companies.

Thanks in advance!
