Transition to SDE

I'm currently working in a non tech catalog team and seeking a transition from non tech team to SDE. Will top companies consider employees who are having non tech work experience.? I'm already on my way to kick start the journey towards SDE, pls share your thoughts or suggestions on this. Also share here the list of companies which encourages this transition.
