Transition from operations role to a tech !

I am manager at Amazon, Did BBA,MBA from a private institution. Now I feel that the scope for tech is more as compared to operations. I have indulged my self in a python course, though I am learning a lot new things but feels like practise could be the best teacher here.

Looking forward for some great suggestion from my tech buddies that what all I can take care of so that this journey remains engaging for me and does not lead to only frustration !
