TRAI Blacklists 50 Entities for Spamming Users

• Telecom operators have blacklisted 50 entities for spamming users, following TRAI's directives.
• Over 2.75 Lakh mobile numbers and telecom resources were disconnected in response to the crackdown.
• TRAI received more than 7.9 Lakh complaints against unregistered telemarketers in the first half of 2024.
• The Department of Telecom has also directed unregistered M2M service providers to register by the end of the month or face disconnection.
• Bharti Airtel leads the M2M services market with over 2.8 Cr subscribers and a 53.86% market share.
