Toxic Workload Pressure and Professional Fallout

I have 2.4 years of experience in GenAI and cloud, and I’ve successfully delivered four end-to-end production projects. In my current assignment, however, the team structure is very lean (only three PAs, one A, and two M levels, with no senior resource). The leads often misunderstand requirements, and we’re being pressured to work 13–14 hours daily, including weekends, under threat of escalation emails. Recently, during a family emergency, my manager called and insisted I continue working. I lost my temper and shouted at him. What kind of consequences should I expect from this incident, and how should I handle the situation going forward?

Just talk to HR and highlight what is going on in project and formally ask for release in mail no need to fear I have been in this situation and I had to resign inspite of being a top performer.

But before going to manager follow a process A..talk to manager and highlight the issues and ask for release and just after meeting drop a mail after your mail if he doesn't releas talk to hr and drop a mail.

Make the process look normal and in request mode don't be agressive at all

It's not your fault and neither is it his, his own boss is probably pushing them to do this as well. This culture of creating unrealistic expectations and unnecessary pressure is unfortunately quite common in the corporate world. Especially since covid.

Just stand your ground, make your case transparently, and let them figure it out. They probably won't do much about it since your skillset and experience is probably valuable to them. Maybe a warning max imo.
