Toxic Environment for new Joiners
Hi,
I have recently joined TCS and relocated to Hyderabad. Since this was my first relocation and was not aware of the location which is 50 km away from the main city, I started facing food issues. Due to my health history I was not able to find appropriate food. As a result I started facing health consequences. I requested my RM to allow me partial work from Lucknow office but no support from him.He was stuck with a line that I agreed for Hyderabad. I requested my project HR but the same response. They indirectly said that my health issues are not their concern. They are continuously forcing me to work from Hyderabad though I have submitted medical reports from TCS approved medical apps.
Can anyone suggest what to do. Even my team leads work from the Lucknow office though they are not supporting me.

That’s the case with most of the employees! Leads and HR are deaf to listen to employees concerns! When I spoke to my TL I expressed my dissatisfaction to travel to ofc early mornings ! I told him I am not even ok doing 3 days/week these guys are pushing for 5 days wfo ! He says even he don’t like wfo! Spoke to few ppl from other teams occasionally ! Not exaggerating but not a single person told me they are happy/ok to wfo ! Still someone at the top of the ladder is pushing it on to us in the name of culture!!
You want to adapt AI which is a modern development! You want to develop new age problem solutions using tech but you don’t want to adapt to modern culture that the new gen wants !! It’s unacceptable! For instance I work from Hyderabad my lead works from a different location ! Only other person in team works from home as she has exemption I guess as she got recently delivered!
So there is no scope for in-person discussions at office ! I would strongly urge all to decline any virtual meetings/calls and say them we want to have in person meetings if we are wfo!
TCS will make AI come to office 5 days a week
This company is just pure crap
They don't see which place are you working from just go to tcs Lucknow and punch there and stay quite on asking are you coming to office
In 2office we can see which branch you logged into on any given day!! Not sure if they would be liberal or use this to force people to
Since you are new that's why they are not allowing, first option is continue and learn everything required in this project then they might allow, second ask for release or third look for some other options outside tcs
Just do one thing write a mail tag ur supervisor manager and hr as I have also taken relocation on medical ground and ask them its causing you lot of trouble and specify all your points in mail and they will definitely reply back with some positive response else
Tried and tested. I was assigned to Adibatla and I had food issues too. If your project ODC is there in Lucknow or any other city, then this can be done.
Take sick leave every week. If asked, submit your medical docs to HR and TL, then ask for a transfer to the location which has your project ODC. Transfer requests need to be raised in Ultimatix by you. Escalate the issue to HR's manager with all the medical docs and your concern.
Technically, they cannot not process a request on the ground of medical issues.
Just take 2 years of experience from the company and resign.
I have been facing same situation in bangalore in One project, They did not give project to me, simple they were allocated
Keep dropping mail and adding their managers and HR , as you are new they will force you but you keep on trying
