Politics is just a part of normal interaction between different individuals and groups, and exists at every level in our society, including within organizations. While working together towards the common goals of an organization, every individual and team also have their own goals, and that creates different forces and directions within the organization, giving rise to competition and politics.
Understanding and managing all those different forces and motivations, to get a positive result for oneself, one's team, and also the organization, is the art of corporate politics.
It's not very hard if you can put yourself in other people's shoes and see the situation from their perspective, and understand their motivations, goals, and desires. Then you can utilize that, and find ways to align other people's goals and activities with your own, to create positive outcomes both for yourself and for others.

politics are part of all offices. However, one thing which separates India from some developed economies is buttering . In India, managers prefer subordinates who always say yes. Those who have counter view suffer 😔

So basically the title. By abroad here I mean western countries such as UK, USA, Europe, Canada and also includes Australia. If office politics is an Indian phenomenon then why is it so and how we can make Indian corporate setup healthy?
