Too Much sales, is this a bad sign?

So, I run this Saas Feedspace.io. We launched 3 months back, We had two problems, traffic & relevant users. We are just starting so I went ahead and prepared an Appsumo launch. This Appsumo launch is supposed to get us visibility and early traffic, if people can't comapare us to our competitors, we can't even get sales. So i went ahead and figured out LTD plans from $49 to $499 Lifteime.

I thought I should reach out to early users and offer them 50% discount on buying LTD before Appsumo Launch, I assumed that I might get some 3-4 sales before Appsumo launch on 12th feb. But boy, I was wrong, I posted in 2 facebook groups and we closed about 52 LTD sales within 48 hours, The users I spoke to mentioned:

gathering of reviews from all over the web Audio reviews potential and high collection rates Lifetime deal at discounted price were all big reasons for them to quickly buy the LTD and call it a no brainer.

I am not sure, is this a good sign? I mean once I stop LTD will we have any MRR growth, I mean have a whole SEO and Performance plan for signups but I am unsure of MRR numbers, I didn;t expect this much sales from a simple post. 10 users directly asked for the $499 version and started using as well.

Can someone offer some advice here?

I launched SmartTask.io before this one Appsumo, we sold really well at that time, this is my second Appsumo launch!

As per advice from YC wrt how you should price your product, if 20% of prospective clients (matching your ICP) find you expensive then you are priced well.

Lower price with 100% of clients acceptance is not as optimal in your final money in the bank compared to relatively higher price with 80% of clients acceptance

From a user point of view a lifetime subscription is a big alarm bell. Like I know specifically for cloud compute/storage and hosting people wait for opportunities for any lifetime plans appearing during sales.

Maybe later you can still keep the lifetime plan but with harder conditions like bring 5 more paying users and then unlock the opportunity to participate in the next lifetime plan sale offering.

Grapevine is a free app. How do they run their startup?

Pardon me for being so naive here. I want to understand this new type of startup trend.

  1. What’s the source of motivation for their employees to stick to their jobs?
  2. How do apps like these think of monetizing? There is no ad, no paid...
