Trending @Capgemini; Too much focus on WFO/BTO policy
Ever since Capgemini started this hybrid way of working or 12 days per month thing, I've seen my colleagues & other employees worrying too much about this policy. They come to office just for the sake of it. They spend exactly the minimum number of hours they want to/have to. They worry it affect their rating & hike. Some actually focus more on this than their actual work.
I personally see no benefit in this. There's no social or personal advantage in all of this. You can debate on productivity but I highly doubt if it's better. What do you guys think?
PS: If any HR or manager is reading this, I'd love to see you list the reasons behind framing this policy!

Whats wrong in the policy? Is it too strict or it has loopholes. My thought to this is, come to ofc, build connections and connect with people in person. And thats the experience CG is trying to share to its employees. Organisations have imposed their employees to come to ofc 5 days straight and work x hours. CG stands out from that, and focuses on people and their well-being. What are we doing in return, take advantage of it?

What I feel when I'm working from home its easy to study and preapre for job but now I'm going to office 4-5 hour daily travel in a day and no colleague from my project just sitting there waiting to complete my hours. So I feel company just want to make ppl stuck at same place without hike..... I used to discuss this with my frnds they feel the same.

4-5 hours commute is really a terrible thing to have. Connect with your N+1 and get BTO exception. Submit proper evidence that commuting for hours is impacting your productivity. And fyi CG offers offline work mode, connect with your BU HR (This would be applicable when you put down your papers and company tries to retain you)

I agree to the statement. When the team is working across different locations why emphasize this wfo policy .I don't see a point in just going to office for name sake complete the hours and waste another 2 hrs for travel
Why appraisal is based on wfo status

Exactly! If they want people from different teams to come to office, they should at least plan something for them. No point in wasting both employees' & organisation's time + money

Work from office is good only if our project team members sits in a same location but most of the case it's not
This policy is just for name sake 🤣😄

There’s no benefit with WFO over WFH. They just like to control and pretend to work. The productivity argument is not backed by any data.

I totally agree with you. I see more productivity working from home. Just for sake I am too coming to office. I feel more focus while working from home.

I mean there is no need to mandate no of hours because of this stupid 6 hrs policy I have to leave from home at a time when traffic is more and same while returning from office so it only wastes everyone time, minimum 2 hours in office is still good but top management people are without any brains so it's useless to make them understand this
