Doesn’t look correct. Reason- p is mass * velocity. So for anything moving at the speed of light the equation becomes, E=1.414mc2 🧐
Any physicists in the house to explain this?

It doesn’t work like that. mc^2 is the static energy equivalent for mass m. So basically if a mass m is not moving and completely annihilate to energy then energy equivalent to mc^2 will be released. But if the same mass is moving with some velocity then what op is saying is correct.

That’s fine. I’m talking about a situation where the mass is moving. Will the equation yield the multiple of 1.414 if speed is equal to speed of light?
Rather for any moving mass, the multiple would be greater than 1. The velocity can be represented as a % of c and the equation will become E= sqrt(1+x%)mc2
