To whomsoever it may concern
As a long time user of Grapevine and having appreciated the platform for its diverse content and engaging community, it is disheartening to witness the decline in the quality of content and conversations, which has been a significant part of GV's appeal for many users, including myself. The divisive nature of these discussions are not only aggravating negativity but also hampering the overall user experience. Every third post can't be a political post. Come on!Â
I understand the importance freedom of speech, but the current trend seems to have crossing lines. While being an atheist everything looks like a circus to me (whatever has been happening over the last few days), I really have a doubt whether this is what you have as a vision for this product! Let's not forget we have been providing consistent feedback on the product you have built and you were always open to listening to them. Hope you don't turn a blind eye.
Similar to many sensible forums out there discussing different topics of interest, it would be better if politics, religion, and sex are kept out of this platform just to maintain some sanity among the users of GV. This is still a matured community to have conversations with, but once it comes to politics and religion people seem to have no self-control over what they say.
We joined this platform to avoid the cringefest on Twitter and LinkedIn. If we were to watch fights, hate, abuse, name calling, and WhatsApp University toolkits we would have remained on Twitter. We wouldn't be needing another app that occupies space unnecessarily on our phones. Wish you guys really up your Admin game in the coming days!
If you are more keen about quantity than quality, then sorry. This app is just going to end like another Twitter with an orange theme.
Hope to see those days back again where conversations were healthy and respectful. And of course, the quality!

Hey @BrisbaneBunny
Thanks for such a thoughtful post.
This is something we’ve been worried about for a few weeks now since political/religious discussions started happening at a large volume.
We prefer not to silence topics too much while monitoring/moderating hateful comments soon as we can.
Over the last day or so the volume of posts and comments wrt such topics has been quite high and it’s been difficult for us to keep all hateful content at bay.
Please do realise we don’t like to silence topics/discussions and that’s probably for the better in the long run.
But I totally understand you and we will try to be better and hopefully give you less of content that you dislike.
Thanks a lot for taking the time :)

I echo the sentiments by @BrisbaneBunny here. The only reason for me to join GV was that the quality of conversations was unmatched. I recently introduced GV to a friend of mine and encouraged him to join GV community exclusively for honest conversation about workplaces, common problems every working professional faces etc. Basically, the content and conversation are relatable.
It would be helpful if @Micheal_Scott can share the vision for this community. How do you see it evolving in near future?Do you intend GV to be the go to place for all honest workplace and related discussions or do you intend GV to be much broader in terms of the topics covered including sex, politics, dating etc.?
Also, if you could share your thoughts on "we don't like to silence topics...... better in the long run", who exactly is it better for?
Apologies if I have ruffled feathers but I am a passionate user of the app and wanted to share my feelings with members here.

Hey @LawfulPray11
Appreciate the message
The goal for the community is for top working professionals to discuss topics that matter to them.
Which means that the GV team (us) are not the ones who get to decide what’s discussed. We like to let the conversation take its own shape.
We’ve been building online communities for 2-3 years now and what sucks most is: censorship
But yes, we do have to step in and moderate when things violate basic decency (highlighted in Community guidelines in detail)
With that said, totally understand your POV. We are trying to create more intentional spaces/communities within GV so people can ‘get what they want’. Please give us a few weeks
A new app update should solve for this
Thanks a lot for your patience sir/ma’am 🫡

Thank you @BrisbaneBunny. Great way to express.
I have been an every day GV user and all the reasons for choosing GV is precisely what @BrisbaneBunny elaborated. Honestly, was also secretly proud to have such an app come out of india and we were able to keep the horrendous voices at bay as much as possible.
But, in the last 3-4 days, every other post has been a trigger and I have thought to get out of this platform few times. Still I do trust the OG creators to figure out a way to bring some sanity and glad to see @Micheal_Scott ‘s response. Thank you.
Please keep GV as it was originally meant to be. The employment market is prepping for one of the worst we might have seen in the lifetime and GV has been a source of information and real content to ensure a lot of us that we are not alone. It’s a very weird sort of camaraderie - like in times of war or something.
Many times in the last few weeks, where I am seeing heart wrenching real stories of job loss and hopelessness, I have thought about the money spent on all these religious celebrations to have come to the rescue of the unemployed. It is such a broad and definitely controversial topic but I do feel (not strongly since I don’t have data to back this haunch), that we could have been a lot lot better financially in the last few years if a little more concern and steps were taken towards helping the employables.

Politics, Religion, Sex, Cricket.
What else would you want to talk about in India?
