To everyone who made big without pedigree

Hi guys, Have been really concerned after figuring out the inclination of recruiters towards tier 1 talent. Have lost out 2 offers to tier 1 candidates, when I had a much better skill set than them. How did you guys make it big without pedigree? Should I try getting into an IVY league or not?

Are you a student? What roles are you applying for? How do you know you lost out on this? What ivy league? Meaning are you looking for tech roles after doing ivy league? That doesn't make sense? Elaborate?
