To all those who had an opportunity to migrate to USA but decided to stay back, do you regret that decision?

I always think of how I had got admissions into few colleges but eventually decided to stay back. I keep thinking what could have been if i had left!

NO one will say yes, even if they do regret. There are many stories of people, who lived very middle class life in US. But almost every second gen born in the US, has made a very decent life to themselves.

People who go to the US, go there hoping for a better life. Most of them do get it. Some unlucky ones get left behind, But their kids make it thru. Their kids do not suffer the reservation, unreasonable taxation, medical atrocities that they suffered when in india.

Going abroad, people may or may not regret. But staying in India, people eventually will regret giving up that opportunity.

Got admission way back in 2017. Visa got rejected thrice. Heartbroken and blamed myself for next years. Post lockdown, got opportunity from UAE. Made good money in 2.5 years. Lived my life in good AQI, focused on fitness basically did everything what I wanted to do. Switched to new job, no friends, no community. Feeling very bored. Planning to quit and go back to live life. Since last few years, just saving money and forgot to live.

I finished my MBA in June 2023 and took a flight back home on July 3rd. Yes, the money there is sweet, you convert $$ to ₹₹, qnd I miss it a little. I am at 26LPA + 29LPA in bonuses and Esops. but still.
however, the best part about coming back is that I can spend time around family. My Dad got really sick last year and was bedridden for weeks. Fortunately, I was by his side within hours and took a sabbatical to take care of him. conclusion: what’s your priority! mine is my family!

No way. For me, nothing can replace family. The U.S. might be the land of dreams, but what’s the point of chasing those dreams if your family isn’t there to share them with you?

No, not at all. I stayed there for a month and I almost went into depression. Trust me, our India is the best in the entire world.
