Tips to switch to Data Science Role

Hi Grapeviners!

I am currently a data analyst and while I have done some projects with a flavour of data science and ML, I want to switch to a data science role.

Please help with any tips for preparing for such roles. What courses would help to become more hands-on with coding? What is the latest tech/ programming language I should study about? How to get started with Kaggle?

If you have switched to a data science aligned role, how did you go about it?
