Time to run away from India

Govt just approved 8th pay commission. And the hikes and base pay are just insane. On top of it, I don't see corruption reducing one bit.

Scenario has changed as well, the work has become hectic of what I can see (parents and relatives in govt jobs) 11-12 of fixed work for managers that easily extends to 14hrs atleast 2-3 days every week.

The govt demands high productivity/business outcomes based on the department you are in now.

Which civic service around you has improved? Working long is never equal to impact/outcome or a justification for potential 186% hike

They are doing useless paperwork. They can automate a lot of stuff but they will continue to print stuff. And then sign and scan back. Efficient 14 - 18 hour work. They will travel and meet minister to just get a sign when that can be done over email or Govt system.

And here infosys announced 6-8% in hikes for 22-23 cycle that too in phases 🤦🏻‍♂️.

The last salary hike government employees got was in 2014 when the 7th pay comission was implemented and it has been 11 years since then. Also it would take somewhere around 2 years to implement. Dude even corporate employee gets somewhere between 6-10% hike every year.

For those who don't know about 8th pay commission- primary mission of the 8th Pay Commission is to analyze and recommend pay, benefits, and pensions of the central government employees (CGEs) that align with current economic conditions and inflation rates.

There are people who are hardworking and smart workers irrespective of the private or public sector. They don't do capacity planning and plan their work, there are no hard cuts like in Tech. They work based on priority of course they get randomised due to external pressures from highly powerful folks. They deserve a good pay. I am married to a government Banker who is an executive position and he puts on way more effort and time. Mind u he is a national ranker in CA,,ICWA. I have friends who are MLA, IAS and they hardly have time for family or for themselves.
