TIL- VAC traffic signals

Vehicle Actuated Control. I saw VAC signals in many parts of Bangalore city, but was unaware of what exactly that means.

These signals have 3 modes- 1/ Manual mode- VIP/ Ambulance traffic 2/ Auto mode with camera- Camera detects the volume of traffic and decides on basis of that 3/ Sync mode- various signals work simultaneously to reduce the overall traffic in area

Yes I get it that these cameras don't have any timers but won't it be nice to have VAC cameras with timers?

For example the signal will turn green suddenly from red.
