Just don't go out on long holidays, most probably you will be stuck in traffic.
Road Trips need a good Car and lots of Petrol, both of which are really expensive.

Plan trip for uttarakhand , so many good places in rishikesh, haridwar, dehradun, Masuri etc.

Mumbai-- kuravpura-- jogulamaba -- ahobilam-- tirupati -- kalhasti-- tirumala-- kanchi-- mahabalipuram and back
