Why do you think if you turn off on watch history on your app, Google isn't storing it in their database?

They are of course storing every history and using it.

Maybe related, I’ve seen such bad UX but good for company profits or data calls being taken in this downturn on a lot of websites. If global economy was good, they wouldn’t care as much

I've kept ads personalisation off, Google account history (including YouTube, Google, maps, etc) off for more than 2 years.

Honestly, I couldn't have made a better decision!

To show ads, obvious!

So they can tailor more ads to you lol
