Those who defend or debate caste system are almost always upper caste

Parents who tell their kids to marry within caste boundaries fail to understand how they are propogating a broken and harmful tradition/practice , or they don't care.

Those who benefit from a system will never want it to be dismantled.

First remove reservation and then let's talk about caste discrimination.

Oh ok, so according to you this should be the chronology: Introduce Caste System -> People Being discriminated -> Introduce Reservation -> Discrimination still exists -> Remove Reservation -> Remove Caste System.

How will that help?

Be careful what you wish for. Demolition of caste system may not be as great as our NCERT books may have proclaimed.

"We oppressed bro, we oppress 5000 years ago. We were not able to drink water" But how dare you say something 70 years ago. And what is the so called "caste" of killers in your article?

Okay, let's ask the questions on ground reality. Who is actually benefitting from the caste system?
The ones who are coming in minority,SC, ST, OBC are getting privileges from the caste system not only in monetary benefits from the government whether be in school or colleges like scholarships but in prestigious entrance examinations as well for qualifications. Also, the kind of reservation policy is getting applicable in various govt. job notifications and posts is available to everyone. A person coming from above communities does have the privilege to not only getting reservation on their caste basis but also can claim seats within the general category of they desire. There is no such policy to only avail the reservation to only one member of the family so that it doesn't propagate to another, and the ones who could actually be uplifted can be uplifted.
Even when supreme court of India recently in it's judgement said that creamy layer should be excluded from reservations now, then we could easily see the trends and hashtags on twitter regarding it. Even the govt won't do anything on it,bcoz of vote bank politics.
Not only that several untruthful cases under the SC/ST act are going on against numerous people. What do you have to say about that?
Second, when it comes to upper caste what kind of privileges are they getting. Literally nothing. In fact, the middle upper class is bearing the burden for these so initiatives and freebies by the govt. And in return, what they are getting is nothing. BIG NOTHING.
Now, nor everyone in the General category is rich neither everyone in the minority, SC, ST, OBC is poor. Remember this.
Now, in the video the one who is speaking, is not even clearly mentioning anything just giving roundabouts of sentences which can have any interpretation whatsoever. So, I don't really get what this person is really saying. It's just a bunch of crap.

So, by the looks of it, it's the ones who are constantly getting benefitted from the reservation system "AS A RESULT OF CASTE SYSTEM" would be the first ones, who wouldn't like to override this system. In turn, not only they want to take the benefit out of it but also would like to make the upper caste the punching bags just to say that this should prevail since they have been discriminated.

Love how people here are not able to grasp the issue of Caste Syste.

Upper Castes couldnt have the heart for intercaste because of consolidation of wealth, privilege and lifestyle.

In Lower castes, those who got reservation simply enjoyed it even if they were privileged and wealthy but didnt pass them on to castes lower than them. Also politicians claim to fight for all lower castes but the lower castes themselves are fragmented. Because Network Effects helped Upper castes, lower castes didnt use the same strategy.

An Example : I have seen many instances where Dalits themselves discriminate against SCs and STs .

Also, Parents tell about marrying within caste due to other important reason like lifestyle compatibility and cultural same-ness

Example : A Hardcore Brahmin wouldnt marry a Hardcore Kshatriya because of dietary preferences . This opinion is not of the boy and girl but their families.

Last but not the least, societal stigma on marrying out of caste. I'll tell you even the best intentioned people unknowingly propagate casteism.

End of the day, Societal Stigma, Lifestyle Adjustment should be accepted to break this caste system !!!! Which I dont think could happen in a 100 years frame.

Why do Indians hate India?

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be.

The dichotomy is extremely confusing....
