Trending @Accenture; This may stir up some rage, but most promotion post that I see on linkedin are from only one gender 🫣

I got to know from my project lead that the female quotes were quite high to balance the gender equality. But a lot of people got promoted which were not deserving because of it only.

No one gets promoted and given the next level of responsibilities to handle if they haven't already handled what's given to them exceptionally.Promoting the wrong people is a loss for the management and they won't do it that easily. When you see someone is promoted, question should be what they did to get there and not which gender they are !

My manager who is lead of diversity and inclusion of our account in Data&AI informed same. Only 2 Females got promoted, No male.

Not true. Both genders got who posted on linkedin. I think you kept that one gender connections only. That's why you are getting post from one gender.

Hahaha. Its true to some extent but the sample size has too many assumptions. Accenture believes in gender equality. Its a very good agenda for there brand image. Especially with our current CEO, Accenture wants to set an example to the world. Nowadays the criteria for promoting female candidates are easy comparatively and hence promotion of the same are high at all levels.

Do you think company will promote someone just because of being a female without being sure they get proper returns from the resource by effectively handling next level of responsibilities. If they don't handle and prove it's a loss for the management and account and nobody will take such chances unless the performance of multiple candidates are equally good not just by gender ! Female or not account needs results and can afford to pay only capable resources .

I dont think this is completely true. Accenture formally put itself out there in 2017 when it announced its goal to reach gender parity across the global talent base. The company is looking to achieve 50/50 gender balance across all roles globally by 2025, with 30% of managing directors being women within the same timeframe.

Now even the company is not talking about who deserves more and who doesnot. The company wants 30% of its MDs to be female by 2025.

Why is it still so hard for men to accept that females are equally competent and succeed based on merit ?

Never mentioned any gender.

The trailing discussions specially point to 'female candidates' , sad.

I know 3 people who got promoted. 2 are male and 1 is female. So what's your point?

FloatingCupcake

@ObiSayu but in majority projects it’s the opposite ! So the point is very clear !

Not sure which projects you looked into, but in my department, 70% promoters where male and 30% where female .
Only those who where over-due promotion where given. Like I know 2 people got promoted to TL, both girl and boy, and they both have 6 yrs of exp with MAL over 24. In my departments that I work in, the projects that I worked for there was never any discrimination based on gender for promotion but those that where overdue.
Also the company doesn't own anyone anything. If you deserve a promotion you need to fight for it. I got promoted to TL back in dec 2022, initially they didn't wanted me to be promoted. I clearly told them I want promotion in 2022 or I will leave. Since I was important resource for the project, they gave me promotion.

Complaining here about not getting promotion or just a particular gender getting promotion is not going to help. You are not a human right activist. You need to focus on being an invaluable member in the project and automatically promotions and high vp will come.

It’s funny to see females getting triggered even though post doesn’t mention any specific gender 😂😂

It's sad that males assumed it as 'female' quota benefits despite not having it mentioned in the post . You can imply something without stating it directly. Sad it's being laughed about 👍

@Corporate10 I agree with you! It was true for all past quarters in last 2 years in my project! Most of the promotees were all undeserving candidates of the said gender and they all got promoted just in the name of gender equality!

This quarter it was better in my project. 3 promotions happened of opposite gender, all were very deserving and waited for quite long and 2 promotions happened in the name of gender equality and 1 of them was definitely not deserving!

Sad to see deserving employees not getting promoted even though they work very hard but have to surrender in the name of gender equality!

A wise man once said, When you favour one gender over another keeping aside merit or giving some leniency in merit it can never be equality !

This is similar to reservation problem we have in India ! Giving lower cutoff in the examinations in the name of caste is not equality!

Speaking from my proj perspective it doesn’t seem like the promotion is based on gender.

ZippyKoala

Not based on gender, but the critical resources in the project who were about to leave accenture, or were planning to leave are only promoted. Specially those whose replacement cannot be found easily in a project are promoted.
