There must be tax slabs for farmers
Many benefits for farmers without paying anything, zero benefits for salaried people even after paying 30% taxes🥲
Taxing farmers could exacerbate issues like the global shortage of food and the declining share of agricultural employment. In a time when we need to encourage more people into agriculture to ensure food security, imposing taxes might discourage small farmers and push them out of the market. We should be finding ways to support and incentivize farmers rather than adding financial burdens.
Right, that's why there is a need to have tax slabs for farmers also. Some farmers are poor that's understood but there are some who earn in crores & have all luxurious lives still they are out of the tax system.
There are many people taking advantage of this facility for farmers.

The solution is to not let random people “declare” themselves as farmers - agricultural income should be above say xx% of the total income or something.
Irrespective, rich people getting creative to avoid taxes will always happen - CAs and Financial Planners exist as a profession for that.
A random guy in a village flexing 'x' bigha zameen has a BPL card, takes ration from govt, owns a car, and a home, but pays almost 0 taxes.
Personally I know a few of farmers from my village who are earning more than 40 lakhs yearly. Taxing all farmers is not the solutions. Taxing the right farmer is the correct approach.

Farmers are vote bank. No gvmt in the next 100 years will even touch it Also many politicians/babus use the same route to evade taxes. So any hope is next to impossible.
