Trending @Capgemini; The worst day of my life

When I woke up yesterday in my cozy apartment in Bangalore, ready for another day at work, I did not know that I was about to face the worst day of my life.

As I walked into the office, I noticed everyone was unusually quiet. Normally, the office was buzzing with energy, but today felt different. My best friend rushed over to me, her face pale. "Have you heard? They're laying off people today," she whispered, her voice shaking.

I felt a tightness in my stomach. Layoffs? I hadn't heard anything about this. My mind started racing, thinking about my rent, my bills, and my dreams of traveling. Trying to stay calm, I headed to my desk, hoping I wouldn't be one of the unlucky ones.

Around noon, we received an email from HR, asking us to gather in the conference room. My heart pounded as I walked with my colleagues, everyone looking scared and anxious. The HR manager, stood at the front, his face grim. "Today is a difficult day," he began, "We have to make some tough decisions."

As he started calling out names, people began leaving the room, some crying, some looking stunned. My name wasn't called, and I felt a small sense of relief. But then, I felt something else—an uncomfortable rumbling in my stomach. I'd had some Pani Puri the evening before, and now it was coming back to haunt me.

I tried to hold it in, but I couldn't. I ran to the bathroom, but it was too late. I had an accident, and there I was, a grown woman, sitting in the stall, crying because I'd pooped my pants. I cleaned up as best as I could, feeling humiliated.

When I finally emerged, I saw my bestie waiting for me. "Are you okay?" she asked, her eyes full of concern. I broke down, telling her what had happened. She hugged me tight, saying, "Koi na. It is okay."

But things got even stranger. As I was leaving the office, my manager called me into his office. "We need to talk," he said, looking serious. My heart sank. Was I getting fired too?

Instead, he told me that I'd been promoted. "We recognize your hard work, and we want you to lead a new project," he said. I couldn't believe it.

I left his office in a daze, my emotions all over the place. As I walked home, I felt a mix of relief, anger, and confusion. Just when I thought the day couldn't get any weirder, my phone buzzed. It was a message from my crush at office, asking if I wanted to grab coffee.

My heart skipped a beat. him and I had been flirting for months, but we'd never gone out. I quickly replied, saying yes. Meeting him was a welcome distraction from the chaos of the day.

We met at a small café, and as we talked, I started to feel better. But then, another twist. As we were laughing about something silly, I suddenly felt a strange sensation. Before I knew it, I had accidentally stained the seat . I was mortified, but he didn't seem to notice. I was officially on my periods and it was just the worst.

I ran as fast as I could. 🥲

What do you think? Have you had an even worse day?
