The union UNITE said that TCS top bosses get very high salary hikes, but normal employees are denied fair pay.

UNITE said TCS should train and reskill employees instead of removing them. They pointed out that TCS made ₹2.55 lakh crore in revenue, had a 24.3% profit margin, and paid ₹45,588 crore as dividend — yet it is still cutting jobs.

The union also said that top bosses get very high salary hikes, but normal employees are denied fair pay. They criticized the government for being silent and still giving TCS public contracts.

According to UNITE, TCS is removing around 12,000 mid and senior staff. These workers are being replaced with freshers who are paid much less (about 80%–85% lower). The union warned that in total, 30,000–40,000 people may lose jobs.

The Union of IT & ITES Employees (UNITE) held a protest in Chennai on Tuesday. The protest was against Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for cutting jobs.

Wish these protests would make a difference. Sadly haven't seen any impact from the previous ones.

Agree. I don't think anything will come out of it.

Managers are those idle oldies are irrelevant because they don't know anything except doing politics, blackmailing juniors.

Additionally, what they generally do is the copy paste the hard work of others and show case it to the client and polish themselves.

TCS was overconfident during 2022 & hired , honoured everyone now initiated layoff. Lot of pain going around allocated & unallocated. Hope these will matter TCS in the long run. Soon as an organisation freshers will deny TCS.

₹45,588 crore as dividend goes to whom? Most of it to Tata Sons. Why won't they pay dividends then? If you divide it among 6 lakh people that comes to over 7 lakh Rupees per individual. Don't forget the rise in stock price. It is all designed to rip off people who actually do the job and to reward the parent company. Apparently this money goes to charity. So TCS employees are funding charity on behalf of Tata Sons. Be proud. The mighty Tata Sons is unbeatable dear labourers - Unite or not. Surrender to destiny.

Wiki - As of 2024, Tata Sons owned 71.74% of TCS, and close to 80% of Tata Sons' dividend income came from TCS.

All IT unions are useless. In my long IT career I have never ever seen them make a positive change in any IT employee's life. And anyways any kind of union, no matter which industry, they are always destructive.

Labor laws are not good in India. Hence the company takes advantage of it.
