The shortest belt accounting for 50% of India's economic activity has no overlap with the shortest belt accounting for 50% of population
I guess that's what happens when u have lazies who just want biryanis in life.
This post is not about South, but a well known answer to a question about North😅.
Be grateful south people still smile at us at times. And protect it for your own good

Ok sir = who protects india from wars? I never saw southern states in terror attacks? Be grateful north indians are there to protect the nation while you people argue about "NO HINDI". aukat me reh.

I feel that this is not a fair comparison. South India has a geographical advantage of being closer to the sea and ports which is where the majority of goods are imported and exported. So it's obviously going to have a higher growth and wealth. No comments on the population of those 6 North states tho 😬

Population can also have a geographical reasoning. People in gangatic plains don't have to rely on rain for irrigating crops, land is more fertile than southern states due to deposits by Ganga. Better crop produces and year round access to water leads to more population.

Yes exactly. This is a result of geography more than anything else

For a long time, North bore the brunt of invasions and acted as a buffer zone so South can be relatively peaceful apart from sea based landings. It reflects in people's culture, thought process and civility. Be neutral, if not grateful.

Very true. But neutrality is like a clap. It should happen from both ends. This post was itself a tit for tat.
We northies should first of all understand why they say respect local language. I know kannada really well because I was born and brought up here though from north family background. And growing up I never faced discrimination. My friends are pakka kannadigas and they are more like my matchas.
But what I have seen with migrant northies young blooded ones is they r quite delusional. They really think world doesn't exist beyond Hindi and can barely understand 'why it's 100x important to quickly learn and respect local language'.
It's not that locals ask u to learn it in first go. It's that they want you to acknowledge that learning kannada is and should be one of your most important duties when u r here.
It's fine if you can't speak, no one will beat you out if no where. But only if you say I don't have to learn or show it by not learning even after 5-10 years of being here that you start losing respect.
A post on economy became language, but the point was about giving a perspective to neutrality. My parents I feel are the epitome of this. And they are loved and supported well from forever by locals. There is lot to take away from that for the young generation.

GJ + MH combined prolly does same gdp as 5 of those blue states, similarly 2 red states might be doing half the food grains production of the country, 4-5 grey states getting half the tourism activity.
This doesn't proves any point, if you want concentrated numbers 2 airports handle lion's share of air traffic
splitting and colouring for pointless narrative shift, totally nonsense post.

Guys, please calm down. This is just a geographical study and not a caste/race/language-based population study.
India is a highly intracountry-migration-based economy.
So, Mr Author, don't be grateful that the South Indians still smile at you; you must deserve it by contributing to the state's GDP, and that's why they do.
And commenters (from North India) who are outraged by the author, please be grateful that the South offers much better income opportunities for the whole country.
Does anyone want to guess whether I am a Northie or a Southie? (Wow, writing '---thie' really makes me feel pretentious :D)
