The Ken did a story on unacademy and various scams they are doing. Now they are praising the unacademy founder. The whole article shouts " THIS IS SPONSERED" when you read it.
The morning context articles are on spot. They write without fear. Amazing articles. I started reading the articles when they started publishing about the whole range of articles about ola.
At the earlier startup I used to work at, a writer from The Ken approached us for comments around an article they were doing. She said they were writing an article about the business category we were in.
Our founder agreed to the interview but requested just a couple of hours because he was boarding a flight and wouldn't be able to speak.
In an hrs time, The Ken published a scathing article about our company with half baked research that stated "The founder declined to comment".
All they want to do is negative stories about startups because that's what gets them the clicks. They absolve themselves of any responsibilities by saying they aren't "journalists" but just an online publication.
They disguise their personal opinions as news and just post whatever shit they fancy.

So is it that you used to read both? And if I may ask when you say prefer that would be in what aspects?
I subscribed to the Ken first. But saw some wrong articles of a company I worked at . They also sensationalise a lot to get subscribers I think.
I feel morning context has more facts and less editorialising . Of course I haven’t subscribed to the Ken for more than a year now so it might’ve gotten better
Please dont judge me for asking but is there any way I can read TMC articles for free?
I'm a long time subscriber of The Ken, currently in their 3-yr subscription. Ken writes data oriented neutral or a slightly company siding narrative stories. They are good and you learn some stuff but it doesn't excite you.
I'm no longer subscribed to TMC since December but planning to get on it again soon. TMC articles are mostly a bit spicy, takes a slightly critical tone on the companies, doesn't try to sound varnished basically. I kind of miss that.
The Arc is another publisher which is trying to gain some eyeballs on Twitter and LinkedIn. They seem to be good so far.
I also read Rest of World which is very good as well.
